Kathak Workshops

Several dance workshops have been held at the behest of various organisations where all interested were free to attend. These workshops sought to equip the students with skill, technique and learning various new technical, abhinaya as well as choreographic pieces. These workshops have helped dancers to broaden their experience, open their minds, step outside their comfort zones and appreciate another point of view, another genre of thought and practice and also another approach to dance.

Most of the dancers have given feedback that they have been enriched with broadening of their horizons of ideas, perceptions, developing a healthy regard for history and literature, and seeing dance as a wholesome activity along with the focus that the workshops entailed on technique and pedagogy. In the process they have also made connections and learnt life skills, discovering new ways to create and move.

Workshops have been held at AIPA (Alaknanda Institute of Performing Arts), at Nataraj Dance Academy, Patna, at NADAM, Bangalore, at Samadhanfor persons with intellectual disability also impacted by poverty, at Amar Jyoti and at Akshaya Pratishthanfor the “specially-abled” and so on. Even workshops have been held in San Francisco, Fremont, London, Riga, Vilnius (Lithuania), Singapore, Istanbul (Turkey) and in several other parts of the globe.

Besides, Dance Residency Workshops have also been held at Delhi.
