Kathak Baithak

Kathak Baithak

Traditionally, the term “Baithak” comes from the word “baithana” which means to sit together to enjoy the rendition of the performing artiste. Thus it is an informal gathering of like meinded persons who are there to be soaked in the experience of music and dance.

Every quarter to half a year, baithaks have been arranged. Along with the aim of the baithaks stated above, the ‘baithaks’ at Asavari have also been utilised to hone the skill of the young students in various aspects of stage presentations. This is an important part of their learning which prepares them for the formal stage.
